San Rafael

Whilst in Argentina last month, we decided to take a short trip to San Rafael. San Rafael is the second most important city of the province of Mendoza, Mendoza city being the capital and most prominent one. Surrounded by countryside, the city is known for it’s production of wine, olive oil, nuts and fruits. The combination of the soil and climate, produce the best olive oil in Argentina and excellent wines. During our stay we visited never-ending vineyards, a couple of small wineries and other plantations. San Rafael, they say, is blessed with 300 days of sun a year. Surprisingly, we arrived on a cold and rainy night and woke up to a gelid white landscape. It wasn't long before the sun melted down the snow.
